Renew the Licence of a Law Practice Entity

To renew the licence of a Foreign Law Practice ("FLP") issued a term licence, please follow the steps below.

STEP 1: Login to LSRA e-Services using CorpPass

 

  • CorpPass (or Singapore Corporate Access) is a one-stop authentication and authorisation service for corporate users to transact with Government agencies online on behalf of their organisations.
 
  • CorpPass will be required for all local entities with a Unique Entity Number (UEN) and for foreign entities that wish to access Government-to-Business (G2B) digital services in Singapore. Individuals and local entities without a UEN will continue using their SingPass to transact with the Government.
 
  • A complete user guide on how to obtain CorpPass authorisation can be found on the CorpPass website.  
  • Nil.

STEP 2: Complete and submit renewal application form and pay application fee

 

  • The renewal application form is similar to the new licence application form for the relevant law practice type. Before you begin your application, you may wish to refer to the User Guide and applicable sample forms on the LSRA e-Services portal. Please note that the sample forms are provided for reference only and cannot be used for submission to the LSRA.

 

  • The application form will be pre-populated with particulars submitted by the law practice entity in previous applications. Please check and update the particulars if necessary.

 

  • The completed application form must be signed by the Managing Partner / Managing Director / Manager (or equivalent) of the FLPs.  If the FLP has a parent la practice, it must also be signed by the Managing Partner / Managing Director (or equivalent) of the parent law practice.

 

  • The application fee, which is non-refundable regardless of the outcome of the application, can be found in the First Schedule of the Legal Profession (Law Practice Entities) Rules 2015.

 

  • The application fee must be paid online using a valid credit/debit card.
  • Nil.

STEP 3: Receive outcome of application

 

  • The application may take about 3-16 weeks to process, commencing when all required supporting documents and information have been received. Applications that are incomplete, complex or submitted during the peak period from January to March may require more time to process. Therefore, you may wish to submit your application at least 16 weeks in advance.

 

  • The LSRA may seek clarification or further information from the Main Contact for the Application.

 

  • The LSRA will email you to inform you when the application has been processed.

 

  • Nil.
