Update the Particulars of a Law Practice Entity

To update the particulars of an existing Singapore Law Practice ("SLP"), Foreign Law Practice ("FLP"), Qualifying Foreign Law Practice ("QFLP"), Joint Law Venture ("JLV"), Formal Law Alliance ("FLA"), Group Practice ("GP") or Representative Office ("RO"), please follow the steps below.

You may also wish to refer to the User Guide for step-by-step instructions on how to submit an application via LSRA e-Services.

For more information, please refer to our FAQs.

STEP 1: Login to LSRA e-Services using CorpPass

  • CorpPass (or Singapore Corporate Access) is a one-stop authentication and authorisation service for corporate users to transact with Government agencies online on behalf of their organisations.

  • CorpPass will be required for all local entities with a Unique Entity Number (UEN) and for foreign entities that wish to access Government-to-Business (G2B) digital services in Singapore. Individuals and local entities without a UEN will continue using their SingPass to transact with the Government.

  • A complete user guide on how to obtain CorpPass authorisation can be found on the CorpPass website.
  • FLAs and GPs do not have CorpPass. To update the particulars of an FLA or a GP, login to LSRA e-Services using the CorpPass details of one of the member law practices.

STEP 2: Update particulars and/or request reissuance of licence/certificate

  • Under the Legal Profession (Law Practice Entities) Rules 2015, the particulars of law practice entities should be updated as soon as practicable, in any event within 7 days of any change.
  • The update application form is similar to the new licence application form for the relevant law practice type. Before you begin your application, you may wish to refer to the User Guide and applicable sample forms on the LSRA e-Services portalPlease note that the sample forms are provided for reference only and cannot be used for submission to the LSRA.

  • The completed application form must be signed by the Managing Partner / Managing Director / Manager or Partner / Director (or equivalent) with the requisite authority of the applicant law practice entity.

  • No fees will be charged for any updates, unless the re-issuance of a new licence/certificate is required, e.g. when there is a change in the law practice entity's name.

  • The re-issuance fee can be found in the First Schedule of the Legal Profession (Law Practice Entities) Rules 2015.

  • The re-issuance fee must be paid online using a valid credit/debit card.
  • Nil.

STEP 3: Receive outcome of update

  • Some administrative details (e.g. telephone number) will be updated automatically upon submission. Other updates may take about 3-16 weeks to process, commencing when all required supporting documents and information have been received. Applications that are incomplete, complex or submitted during the peak period from January to March may require more time to process. Therefore, you may wish to submit your application at least 16 weeks in advance.

  • The LSRA will seek clarification or further information from the Main Contact for the Application.

  • If the re-issuance of the licence/certificate is requested, a copy of the new licence/certificate will be emailed to the Main Contact for the Application.

  • After LSRA has issued the licence/certificate, it can also be downloaded anytime from myDashboard.

  • Nil.
