Request a Certificate of Good Standing

Law practices and foreign lawyers currently or previously registered with the Legal Services Regulatory Authority (“LSRA”) (or the Attorney General’s Chambers’ Legal Profession Secretariat prior to 18 November 2015) may apply to the LSRA for a Certificate of Good Standing.

 

[Note: Singapore solicitors, including those currently or previously registered under section 36E (previously section 130N) of the Legal Profession Act, should apply to the Law Society of Singapore for a Certificate of Good Standing.]

 

To request a Certificate of Good Standing from LSRA, the foreign lawyer or law practice should submit the request via Contact Us @ OneMinLaw with the following information:

 

(a) Certificate of Good Standing for Foreign Lawyers:

  • Full name

  • Identification number (as reflected in the individual's identification document)

    [Note: NRIC is preferred, followed by FIN, then passport.] 

  • A scanned copy of the NRIC/work pass/passport

  • Current Certificate of Registration number (if any)

  • Previous Certificate(s) of Registration number(s) (if any)

  • Date by which the Certificate of Good Standing is required

  • Purpose of request

  • If the applicant would like to authorise another individual to liaise with the LSRA on his/her behalf, the applicant should state this in a letter or email, which should be uploaded when the request is submitted via Contact Us @ OneMinLaw

 

(b) Certificate of Good Standing for Law Practices

  • Name of law practice

  • Unique Entity Number (UEN)

  • Current LSRA Licence number (if any)

  • Previous Licence number(s) (if any)

  • Date by which the Certificate of Good Standing is required

  • Purpose of request

 

Requests for Certificates of Good Standing may take around 3 to 6 weeks to process, commencing when all required supporting documents and information have been received. After we have processed your request, we will contact you with instructions to pay the fee of SGD150.00.

 

Please also note that the LSRA only issues electronic Certificates of Good Standing.
