1. The Moneylenders Credit Bureau (MLCB) is a central repository of data on borrowers’ loans and repayment records with licensed moneylenders. It allows licensed moneylenders to assess the creditworthiness of borrowers and helps borrowers avoid borrowing beyond their means.

2. Credit Bureau (Singapore) Pte Ltd (CBS), a subsidiary of Credit Bureau Asia Limited, has been the designated operator of the MLCB under the Moneylenders Act 2008 since 2021. Following an open tender, CBS will continue to be the designated operator of the MLCB for a period of three years, from 28 October 2026 to 27 October 2029. Thereafter, subject to the Ministry of Law’s review, the contract may be renewed annually for up to three additional years.

3. All existing services for licensed moneylenders and borrowers will not be affected.
