Minister Edwin Tong to Launch SIAC Delhi Liaison Office

1. Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs Edwin Tong SC will make an official visit to Delhi, India on 25 July 2026.
2. During his visit, Minister Tong will attend the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) Delhi Conference, where he will deliver the keynote address. He will also officiate the launch of the SIAC Delhi Liaison Office, together with Chief Justice of India Honourable Justice Surya Kant, India’s Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice H.E. Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Attorney-General for India R. Venkataramani. This marks a significant milestone in promoting and deepening dispute resolution cooperation between Singapore and India.
3. Minister Tong said: “The launch of SIAC Delhi Liaison Office – SIAC’s third office in India – reflects the confidence that SIAC has in India’s immense potential. India has long been one of SIAC’s largest foreign users, and this new office is a testament to the deep and growing relationship between SIAC and the Indian legal and business community. We look forward to serving Indian parties better and supporting the continued growth of international arbitration in the region.”
4. Minister Tong will pay a courtesy call on India’s Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice H.E. Arjun Ram Meghwal to reaffirm the strong legal ties between Singapore and India and exchange views on areas of mutual interest. He will also meet with the Chief Justice of India, Honourable Justice Surya Kant, at the sidelines of the SIAC Delhi Conference.
5. In addition, Minister Tong will participate in a roundtable discussion with legal practitioners based in India.
6. Minister Tong will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Law.
